Let's Learn UK get Charity Status
Exciting news! Let's Learn UK is thrilled to announce that we have officially been granted charity status in the UK.
Every child deserves the chance to shine at school. Doing well at school can provide a greater range of opportunities in life. The sad fact is, however, that not all children reach their potential. Our aim is to work with schools, parents and carers to support young people in the Redhill / Reigate area who may not be fully utilising their abilities at school by offering free tuition in Maths and / or English.
We recognise that schools already work hard to support those students experiencing significant barriers to academic attainment. We can offer further help to that small number of students who have the ability to progress but are hampered by personal circumstances.
We are interested in hearing from parents, carers and education professionals who would like to learn more about us. We are also keen to hear from qualified tutors who would like to learn more about our aims.
For a variety of reasons some children can fall behind at school. We want to unlock their talent by offering free tuition to those students who will benefit from an extra helping hand.
We have a small team of qualified tutors who will work with students one-to-one or in small groups to coach them in English and/or Maths. They will focus on the areas where students are having difficulties and work to resolve them and build confidence.
•If you are a parent or carer. We are interested in hearing from parents and carers who have a child at Key Stage 3 or 4, who may need additional help with their education particularly in English and Maths.
Complete and submit the registration form, or contact us by email tuition@letslearnuk.com. We will respond at the earliest opportunity and discuss the student’s situation with you. Any discussions will be completely confidential. With your permission, we will contact the child’s school to ensure we are working in tandem with them to avoid any confusion for the student. If we believe we can help, we will contact you with a date to start the tuition.
•If you are an education professional. We welcome contacts from teachers, tutors and education support staff who have identified a student in Key Stage 3 or 4 who may need extra help particularly in English and Maths.
To learn more please contact us by email tuition@letslearnuk.com or phone us on 01737 304097. We will respond at the earliest opportunity.
•If you are a tutor. We will be pleased to hear from you. We are building a small team of qualified tutors to work with 3 – 5 students at a time to coach them in Stage 3 or 4 English and/or Maths. The tuition will be on-line on weekday afternoons/evenings after school. There are voluntary and paid opportunities.
You can contact us by email at tuition@letslearnuk.com
There are any number of reasons why a student may fall behind at school. We have in mind the young person who has a large family and cannot find a quiet place to study; or the student who has caring responsibilities at home; or the student who is struggling to catch up after a long absence from school.
The students we work with will be keen to get ahead, want to learn and are prepared to put in that extra effort.
Parents, carers and education professionals can contact us to seek help for a student.
Tuition will be on-line and will take place weekday afternoons / evenings after school for approximately one hour.
Tuition will continue until the tutor is confident that the student has attained their learning goals.
We are a small local charity, concentrated around the Redhill/Reigate area. If you know of someone who could benefit from becoming involved in this project, perhaps it is you, don’t delay, drop us a line and let’s talk.
Or if you are passionate about education and eager to make a positive impact in the lives of students, we are seeking dedicated individuals who are enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge and expertise with those that need it. By joining Let's Learn UK, you'll have the opportunity to inspire and support students as they strive for academic success.
We are keen to hear from qualified tutors to join our team. If you have the relevant qualifications and experience, do contact us for a chat or drop us a line. We will be delighted to hear from you.

On leaving school he trained as an ink technician designing layouts for a wide range of items from cigarette packets to banknotes. After 8 years he moved into the commercial world of print as a sales representative where he was promoted to sales director. In 2007 Ben established his own printing business where he works to this day, employing twelve staff and going strong.
Ben’s first child was diagnosed with dyslexia early in his education and Ben found a private tutor who now also instructs his daughter. Having seen the huge benefits of individual and small group tuition and the enjoyment that learning can bring, Ben became convinced of its value to others. When he met the likeminded trustees and spoke of some of the challenges children face today, he felt compelled to get involved
Rex has had a career that has spanned many different occupations and has a wide range of interests outside work. Rex participates in different community activities, involving both children and adults, which have led him to the view that everyone deserves a chance to reach their potential. It is this outlook that drove Rex to initiate Let’s Learn UK.
From an early age Rex had a strong desire to work with animals. His first job was working in a fish farm and zoo where his responsibilities were working with snakes, salamanders, tortoises, and green frogs. His interest in animals has taken him to safaris in Mombasa, Nairobi, and Sri Lanka where he collected animals for the London Zoo.
Other roles have included being a lab technician and a hands-on facilities manager.
Rex is a DIY enthusiast who enjoys travelling, badminton, football, cricket, and birdwatching. He has lived in Redhill for 35 years and is a senior steward at the Redhill Methodist church.
Rosie is a retired learning and development consultant, who has worked in both the public and private sectors. She has lived in the Redhill area for most of her life and held part-time roles in education and in local charities. Her children attended local schools as do her grandchildren.
Rosie was a school governor for many years, including serving for several years as Chair of Governors. During these years, Rosie saw how some children can experience short term difficulties whilst learning at school which, if not addressed, could impede their progress in the future. She is passionate about learning and education, recognising that addressing barriers to learning can make a real difference not only to a child’s attainment at school, but also to their self-confidence once they have left school.
Born in Australia, Tony has been living and working in different countries in Europe and Asia since the 1980s but has called England home since 1999.
Originally training as a teacher of physics, Tony’s career has included teaching, running a windmill company, working on the land in an Irish shared farm and as a strategy and marketing director of telecommunications companies in Hong Kong, Australia, Bulgaria, and the UK.
Taking the view that “no child should be held back, and no child left behind”, he is delighted to be part of the Let’s Learn UK team. He has seen at first hand the rapid improvements that targeted tutoring can bring and the difference that this can make to a student’s grades. He considers education as a key ingredient to improving life chances and maintains that every child should have the opportunity to progress as far as their talents will take them.
